MCMS Update

Good Afternoon MCMS Families! Happy Thanksgiving Break MCMS!  We hope that you and your family have had a relaxing holiday week.  It has been a great first half of the school year and we look forward to a strong end of first semester.  Over the next few weeks, we are excited for fun filled events like field studies, band concerts, and our Very Merry Mid-Carolina dress days.  From an academics standpoint, we have our winter iReady benchmark testing and the conclusion to our second quarter of the year.  Good luck to our students on testing, we know they will do great! Thank you to all of our families for your support of our homeroom "Pie a Principal" competition.  We raised $700 for our school with your generous donations.  Here are a few fun pictures from the final "pieing!" Good Afternoon MCMS Families! Happy weekend MCMS!  We are concluding another great week of school and had a fun time celebrating American Education Week.  Thank you for coming out to our Thanksgiving Family Lunch on Thursday.  We had over 200 guests on campus to enjoy a tasty meal from our cafeteria staff.  We are thankful for your support of our school and taking time to be with us.  On Thursday night we were treated to a musical performance by our MCMS Chorus program.  The students worked hard in getting ready for this performance and sounded great! Thank you to everyone who donated for our MCMS PTO Fall Fundraiser.  We raised almost $700 during our Homeroom competition this week.  We look forward to using these funds for school improvement projects and faculty support.  Below are the winning Homerooms.  They have earned the chance to Pie a Principal on Monday, November 20th! Winning Homerooms : 1st Place - Hentz ($132.01), 2nd Place - Hanes ($99.40), 3rd Place - Steurrys ($93.51) As

The MCMS PTO would like to announce our Fall School-Wide Fundraiser will be starting on Monday November 13th.  The goal of #MovingMCMSForward is to help move Mid-Carolina Middle School forward in providing the best education environment and opportunities for our students.  This year we will be raising funds for MCMS teacher support, a new projector and screen for our gymnasium (we began raising funds for this last year), and updating our outdoor areas.  This fundraiser will be a five day homeroom donation competition.  We are asking students to bring loose change and cash donations to your homeroom teacher. The winning homerooms will earn the right to "Pie a Principal!"   On Monday, November 21st, the top three homerooms will get to pie Dr. Dobyns, Mr. Thompson, and Mr. Jones on the morning announcements!   Thank you for supporting our school!

Good Afternoon MCMS Families! Happy Friday and Happy Veterans Day to all of our MCMS Families!  We enjoyed a fantastic Veterans Day Breakfast and Assembly yesterday.  The MCMS Chorus and Band did a great job with their performances, we had good student speakers, and a powerful message from our guest speaker, Mr. Steven Diaz.  Thank you to our Veterans who were in attendance, we are grateful for your service to our country.   Enjoy a few pictures from our Veterans Day Assembly! We hope that you and your family had a great week!  As we look to improve MCMS communications with our families, we are going to send our weekly family update on Friday afternoons.  Our goal is to provide you information earlier, so that you can be informed in your child's education.  Additionally, we will send a follow up text on Sunday to help provide you with any last minute reminders.   Thank you for your ongoing support of our school and we hope to serve your family in the best way we can. Thanksgiving Family Lunch - 11/16 We are excited to announce our annual Thanksgiving Family Lunch!  Lunch will be Thursday, November 16th!  Come join us for Turkey & Gravy or Chicken Tenders, Green Beans, Cornbread Dressing, Sweet Potato Souffle, Dinner Roll, and Cinnamon Apples!
