Good Afternoon MCMS Families! We hope that everyone is having a great weekend!  We are excited to welcome cooler weather this week as we move from August to September.  On campus this week, we are excited for our first home Volleyball game on Tuesday and our first PEP Rally on Friday.  The week will conclude with a long weekend and a chance for everyone to get some extra rest.   Stay connected with your child's academic progress by monitoring grades on the Parent Portal.  Our teachers update grades weekly to make sure you and your child are receiving valuable feedback.  Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions related to grades. Good Afternoon MCMS Families! Happy Weekend!  We hope that your family has been able to relax and unwind after a long week! It was our first full week, and everyone has settled in for a great year at MCMS.  Our students did a great job with iReady ELA testing on Friday.  It will be great to start looking at their scores and seeing how much they have grown from last year.  We also had our first Fire Drill of the year, students and staff did a great job safely evacuating the building in a timely manner. We encourage all of our parents to stay connected with their child's academic progress by monitoring your child's grades on the Parent Portal.  Our teachers will update grades weekly to make sure you and your child are receiving valuable feedback.  Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions related to grades. Good Afternoon MCMS Families! We hope you and your family are staying cool in this summer heat!  It was a great first week of the 2023-2024 school year.  Students quickly got back in the school routine and settled into their new classes.  It was great having the energy and excitement from our students back in the building for the launch another great year at MCMS! Each week you will receive this update to keep you informed and aware of what is going on at MCMS.  We will send additional reminders for special events and other important information for parents to know throughout the week. Our new school motto "Student Focused, Community Driven," is a great representation of who we are as a school.  To help improve on our school and the work we are doing, we need your help. We are looking for support from parents and community members in two areas, our SIC and PTO.  We appreciate those parents who signed up for the SIC and PTO at Open House, we will be in contact with you soon. 

Happy First Day of School MCMS! Good Afternoon MCMS Families, We are excited to welcome all of our students tomorrow for the start of the 2023-2024 school year!  Our teachers have worked hard throughout this summer to get ready for your children.  It was great seeing everyone last night at our MCMS Open House.  Even though our time was cut short due to inclement weather and a power outage, we hope you were able to meet your child's teachers.  We appreciate your ongoing support of the work we are doing at MCMS.   As you and your child are getting ready for the tomorrow, please read over the reminders below to help you get prepared. First Day of School Reminders: Breakfast and Lunch will be at No Cost for all students Breakfast will be served on the hallways for students to pick up on the way to Homeroom Lunch will be served in the cafeteria School supplies will be given to all students (student will need to bring their own bookbags) Students will receive their Laptop during Homero

  MCMS Car Rider Procedures Below is an image of the MCMS Car Rider Procedures.  The red arrows will be for 6th and 7th grade families that are dropping off students.  The black arrows are for the 8th grade families that are dropping off students.   Reminders: During the first days of the school year, please be patient with long car rider drop off lines in the morning.  We will have staff out to assist in making sure everyone is safe and students get to their classes. 6th and 7th Grade families will use Car Rider tags for pick up.  Car Rider tags that were not picked up during Open House will be given to students in Homeroom. 8th Grade families will not be using Car Rider tags for pick up. Thank you for doing your part in ensuring that everyone is safe during morning and afternoon car rider lines.

Good Afternoon MCMS Families, We look forward to seeing all of our families at tonights MCMS Open House.  Due to the possibility of strong storms, we will be ending the Open House at 6:30 PM tonight.  Our Open House will run 5:30 - 6:30 PM.   See you soon!

Back-to-School 2023-2024! Good Afternoon MCMS Families! We hope that you all are having a great weekend and that our students are enjoying there final days of summer break!  We had an eventful last week at MCMS, we were able to welcome our 6th grade students on Monday at Middle School Bound and our faculty returned on Tuesday for the first day of back-to-school in-service.  On Friday, our teachers and staff join together with employees from the entire district for a great day of professional development on Mid-Carolina High.  Our teachers are working extremely hard to make sure that classrooms are ready for our first day of school on Wednesday, August 9th!   With only a couple of days remaining until the first day of school, we know you are getting that last minute school shopping done and enjoying fun family time.  Please read below for your MCMS Update for August 7th - 11th, please reach out to the main office (803-364-3634) if you have any questions.
