Good Afternoon MCMS Families!
We hope that you all are having a great weekend and that our students are enjoying there final days of summer break!  We had an eventful last week at MCMS, we were able to welcome our 6th grade students on Monday at Middle School Bound and our faculty returned on Tuesday for the first day of back-to-school in-service.  On Friday, our teachers and staff join together with employees from the entire district for a great day of professional development on Mid-Carolina High.  Our teachers are working extremely hard to make sure that classrooms are ready for our first day of school on Wednesday, August 9th!  

With only a couple of days remaining until the first day of school, we know you are getting that last minute school shopping done and enjoying fun family time.  Please read below for your MCMS Update for August 7th - 11th, please reach out to the main office (803-364-3634) if you have any questions.

MCMS Open House- Monday, August 9, 2023

We are excited to welcome our 6th, 7th, 8th grade families to our MCMS Open House on Monday, August 7th from 5:30 - 7:00 PM.  You will be able to meet your teachers and visit classrooms before the first day of school.  Here is additional information related to MCMS Open House:
  • Teachers will be available in there classrooms from 5:30 - 7:00 PM
  • Bring your child's schedule and visit each teacher
  • Information about MCMS School Improvement Council will be available in the Media Center
  • We will also have a sign up sheet for those parents interested in helping restart the MCMS Parent Teacher Organization
  • MCMS Apparel will be available to purchase in front of the Media Center
  • 6th and 7th grade Car Rider tags will be available to pick up in front of the Media Center
  • Stop by the Media Center for an opportunity to send a good luck message to your child on the first day of school!

Back-to-School Reminders

We are excited to officially begin our school year on Wednesday, August 9th!  Here are a few reminders to help you get things started:
  • Breakfast and Lunch will be served to all students at No Cost
  • Students will be provided with all needed back-to-school materials
  • Car Rider lines will be longer during the first few days of the school year, please plan extra time to drop your child off
  • If you have not completed your child's registration, please log in to your Parent Portal account and complete the annual registration, please email Mrs. Williams (our school Data Clerk) at mwilliams@sdnc.org if you have any questions

MCMS Athletics

Good luck to all of our MCMS students who are participating in Fall sports.  We look forward to scrimmages and competitions beginning in the next few weeks.  If you have any questions about MCMS athletics or your child's athletic participation, please reach out to our Athletic Director, Coach David Meetze (dmeetze@sdnc.org).

Thank you for your ongoing support of our school!  We are excited about the school year and are looking forward seeing all of our students back on Wednesday!

Good Afternoon MCMS Families! We hope you and your family are staying cool in this summer heat!  It was a great first week of the 2023-2024 school year.  Students quickly got back in the school routine and settled into their new classes.  It was great having the energy and excitement from our students back in the building for the launch another great year at MCMS! MCMS Update - May 20 - 24, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS Families! Happy Last Friday of the school year!  We have four short days of school left until Summer Break!  We have had fun wrapping up our end of the year activities and closing out another great year at MCMS.  We would like to thank our students, parents, teachers, and community members for all of your support during the year.  We hope everyone has a relaxing summer and we can't wait to see you back in August! MCMS Update- September 17, 2023

Good Afternoon MCMS Families! Happy weekend and we hope that your family is doing well today!  It is fall time and activity around our campus is busy.  The MCMS Athletic teams had a great week, our Volleyball team picked up two wins and our Football team picked up one.  We encourage everyone come out and support our student athletes as compete against teams from around the midlands.  This Thursday (9/21/23) is Grits for Grands at Lunch !  We have almost 250 grandparents registered for this fun event.  We will send out more information to those who registered related to check-in and lunch logistics.  The lunch price will be $5.50 per guest (students are at no cost), cash only .  We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday. Friday, we look forward to celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a school-wide assembly.  We have several students speaking in the program, the MCMS Chorus is performing, and we will have an energetic guest speaker....
