Good Afternoon MCMS Families!

We hope everyone has had a great Spring Break and is recharged for the last few weeks of school.  We look forward to an exciting April and May, as we wrap up the 2023-2024 school year.  Over the next 7 weeks, our teachers will continue to focus on making sure our students are ready for end-of-the-year testing and have a strong academic foundation for the next grade level.  We are proud of the progress all of our students have made and look forward to continued growth.  

Please continue to review your child's grades in the Parent Portal and on their Schoology app.  Reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions related to grades or assignments. 

MCMS Welcomes Rising 6th Grade Students!

On Wednesday, April 10th, we will be welcoming the Mid-Carolina Class of 2031!  On this day, we will be hosting an on-campus orientation for all rising 6th grade students from our three feeder elementary schools.  Students will have the opportunity to hear a presentation from MCMS school staff, listen to the MCMS Band and Chorus programs, and have a school tour.  We will be sending information about this visit and our new parent orientation dates to all incoming families at the beginning of next week.

FINAL CALL - SC School Climate Survey

This is the final call for feedback on the SC School Climate Survey.  The SC School Climate Survey is available for parents to complete in the Parent Portal or accessing it with instructions from the form we sent home.  The survey window will close on Friday, April 12th.  Thank you for providing valuable feedback about our school.

Mindset of the Week- Live to Give

The Live to Give Mindset teaches the importance of serving others while maximizing our own potential. It tells us that abundance in life is a cycle; in order to receive love, respect, and financial security, we must first learn to give those things to others. This mindset also teaches us that the greatest gift we can ever give is to find and leverage our unique genius to maximize our positive impact on the world, knowing that good things will be returned to us in kind.

Live to Give- Autism Awareness

One of our 7 mindsets is Live to Give. The main focus of this mindset is about serving others. As a school, we feel it is important to model this idea and life quality for our students. Each month MCMS will focus on one or more causes/themes to bring awareness too. This month our Live to Give focus will be Autism Awareness Month.

Mass Athletic Physical
The School District of Newberry County will be hosting a Mass Athletic Physical day on April 20th starting at 8:00 AM at Mid Carolina HS Gym.  We will be sending more information out about this event.

Good Afternoon MCMS Families! We hope you and your family are staying cool in this summer heat!  It was a great first week of the 2023-2024 school year.  Students quickly got back in the school routine and settled into their new classes.  It was great having the energy and excitement from our students back in the building for the launch another great year at MCMS! Each week you will receive this update to keep you informed and aware of what is going on at MCMS.  We will send additional reminders for special events and other important information for parents to know throughout the week. Our new school motto "Student Focused, Community Driven," is a great representation of who we are as a school.  To help improve on our school and the work we are doing, we need your help. We are looking for support from parents and community members in two areas, our SIC and PTO.  We appreciate those parents who signed up for the SIC and PTO at Open House, we will be in contact with you soon.

MCMS Back-to-School Information- July 20, 2023

MCMS Families, We would like to officially welcome everyone to the start of the 2023-2024 school year!  We are excited to begin another great year at Mid-Carolina!  We have three weeks until the first day of school and we are here to help make sure your child is ready for August 9th.  We have several back-to-school events over the next few weeks, please read over the information below to find out more details. Our first event, is our annual  Back-to-School Registration . These are scheduled for Monday, July 24th from 1:00 - 6:00 PM and Tuesday, July 25th from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM.  Registration will occur in the MCMS Cafeteria.   **If you are unable to attend back-to-school registration, no problem ! Good Afternoon MCMS Families! We hope everyone is having a great week and staying warm in these cold temperatures.  All of our students have settled into their third quarter class schedule and are continuing to grow as learners.  As we finish out January and move closer to February, pay attention to our calendar reminders in the weekly update for important upcoming events.
