Good Afternoon MCMS Families!

Happy March 1st!  We hope that you and your family is staying warm and dry on this rainy Friday!  During the month of March, a lot will be going on around campus.  We have benchmark testing, athletic events, special programs, and moving into the last quarter of the school year.  Spring Break is only 4 weeks away and it will be here before we know it!

Parent Help Needed - Duty-Free Lunch for Teachers on 3/8/24

We are giving are our teachers a Duty-Free lunch on Friday, March 8th.  We need help from our amazing parents to come volunteer to cover lunch.  Please sign up on the MCMS Teacher Support- Duty Free Lunch (3/8/24) form.  Thank you for your ongoing support of our teachers!

To support our local businesses, the MCMS PTO is promoting March 4th - 9th as Mid-Carolina Eats Week! Please visit our local restaurants and thank them for being part of the Mid-Carolina Community!  Be sure to tag #mid-carolinaeats on your social media postings to show your support!

Mindset of the Week- Attitude of Gratitude

The Attitude of Gratitude Mindset teaches us the importance of seeking the positives from every experience and being thankful for all that we have. Through this mindset, students will learn that we can use the positives or the negatives of our lives as the foundation on which to build. Choose the positives, and we are on our way toward extraordinary success; choose the negatives, and we embark on path toward disappointment, resentment, and suffering.

Live to Give- Women's History

One of our 7 mindsets is Live to Give. The main focus of this mindset is about serving others. As a school, we feel it is important to model this idea and life quality for our students. Each month MCMS will focus on one or more causes/themes to bring awareness too. This month our Live to Give focus will be celebrating Women's History Month.

SC School Climate Survey

We be administering the SC School Climate Survey on Tuesday, March 5th to our students.  Our students will be taking the survey in Homeroom that day.  Parents will receive a letter and email with information on how to access the survey.  This annual survey provides valuable feedback to our school.  Thank you for participating in this survey and helping!

Miss MCMS Pageant - March 9th!

We look forward to our annual Miss MCMS Pageant on Saturday, March 9th at 6:00 PM.  Our students have been working extremely hard to prepare for this night and we look forward to seeing them perform!  Thank you to our MCMS Faculty and the support of our parents to make this night possible!



MCMS PTO Spring Fundraiser

We have officially kicked off our spring fundraiser with Charleston Wrap® – and we need YOUR help!  To reach our goals and make this fundraiser a success, we need everyone to do their part.  Luckily, it’s super easy!  Attached to this message, you’ll find a flyer with detailed instructions about how you can register online and support our goals.  As you register your child, please put your child's Homeroom teacher in the teacher box.  As you send text invites, friends and family will be able to shop the Charleston Wrap website for many great items.  We appreciate all of your support and encourage you to spread the word to your friends & family, near and far!
The more people who shop, the more money we can raise for our school!  Our goal is to raise $10,000 in proceeds that will come back to our school.  Together, we can ensure our school reaches its goal – and even surpasses it!

MCMS PTO Fundraiser Information

MCMS Job Shadow Day- Friday, March 22nd

We are excited to announce that MCMS Job Shadowing Day will be Friday, March 22, 2024.  Students received forms from their Homeroom teachers this week.  Forms are due by Friday, March 15.  As noted on the form, middle school students are not allowed to job shadow at an elementary school in our district.  
Please return all forms to Homeroom teachers by March 15, 2024.

Good Afternoon MCMS Families! We hope you and your family are staying cool in this summer heat!  It was a great first week of the 2023-2024 school year.  Students quickly got back in the school routine and settled into their new classes.  It was great having the energy and excitement from our students back in the building for the launch another great year at MCMS! MCMS Update - May 20 - 24, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS Families! Happy Last Friday of the school year!  We have four short days of school left until Summer Break!  We have had fun wrapping up our end of the year activities and closing out another great year at MCMS.  We would like to thank our students, parents, teachers, and community members for all of your support during the year.  We hope everyone has a relaxing summer and we can't wait to see you back in August! MCMS Update- September 17, 2023

Good Afternoon MCMS Families! Happy weekend and we hope that your family is doing well today!  It is fall time and activity around our campus is busy.  The MCMS Athletic teams had a great week, our Volleyball team picked up two wins and our Football team picked up one.  We encourage everyone come out and support our student athletes as compete against teams from around the midlands.  This Thursday (9/21/23) is Grits for Grands at Lunch !  We have almost 250 grandparents registered for this fun event.  We will send out more information to those who registered related to check-in and lunch logistics.  The lunch price will be $5.50 per guest (students are at no cost), cash only .  We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday. Friday, we look forward to celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a school-wide assembly.  We have several students speaking in the program, the MCMS Chorus is performing, and we will have an energetic guest speaker....
