Good Afternoon MCMS Families!
Happy Friday! We hope you and your family are doing well this week. We finished another busy week at MCMS with several fun events for our students. We had Field Studies, Pep Rallies, Basketball games, and Band Concerts, it is great having so many enriching activities for our students to enjoy. We are now days away from the end of the first half of the school year and getting to our well deserved Winter Break. We look forward to a strong finish and getting some extra rest during the holiday season!
We only have 3 more Dress Days Until Winter Break! We look forward to seeing great outfits!
As we close out the 2nd quarter of school, please review your child's grades in the Parent Portal and on their Schoology app. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions related to grades or assignments.

Mindset of the Week- 100% Accountable
The 100% Accountable Mindset teaches the importance of being responsible for our own happiness and success. Being 100% Accountable means deciding not to be victims of the past and recognizing that the future is not predetermined, so our lives are what we choose in the present moment and each moment moving forward.Live to Give December- Angel Tree
One of our 7 mindsets is Live to Give. The main focus of this mindset is about serving others. As a school, we feel it is important to model this idea and life quality for our students. Each month MCMS will focus on one or more causes to bring awareness too. This month our Live to Give cause will be Angel Tree.SDNC 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 Calendar Feedback
You received information earlier this week from the School District of Newberry County on school year calendars for 2024-2025 and 2025-2026. Please make sure you have a chance to review those calendars and provide feedback to the district. Your input is valuable in determining the best calendar for our district. Here is the link to the Calendar Feedback Form.
After-School Program Beginning in January
Mid-Carolina Middle School will be offering an After-School Program in January for students who need additional academic support and/or students that have excessive absences from school. Letters were mailed home this week for students recommended to attend this program. Forms are due back to the main office by Monday, December 18th. More information will be shared to parents about this program. If you receive a letter and have questions, please contact Dr. Dobyns with any questions. He can be reached at pdobyns@sdnc.org.
