MCMS Back-to-School Information- July 20, 2023

MCMS Families,
We would like to officially welcome everyone to the start of the 2023-2024 school year!  We are excited to begin another great year at Mid-Carolina!  We have three weeks until the first day of school and we are here to help make sure your child is ready for August 9th.  We have several back-to-school events over the next few weeks, please read over the information below to find out more details.

Our first event, is our annual Back-to-School Registration. These are scheduled for Monday, July 24th from 1:00 - 6:00 PM and Tuesday, July 25th from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM.  Registration will occur in the MCMS Cafeteria.  

**If you are unable to attend back-to-school registration, no problem! All of our Back-to-School Registration activities can be completed online.  Please fill out our Back-to-School Registration Confirmation form.  For those who complete this form, we will send schedules out on Monday, July 24th.

At back-to-school registration, families will be completing the following stations:
  • Station 1: Submitting Proofs of Residency
    • One of the Following- Current tax notice, lease or mortgage agreement, or current federal tax return.
    • Supporting Documents- Current power bill, current phone bill, current water bill, current cell phone bill, satellite tv/cable bill, SC drivers license, or automobile tax/registration. 
  • Station 1B: Completing Annual Registration (Only for those who have not completed annual registration)
  • Station 1C: Parent Portal Sign Up (Only for those who have not completed annual registration)
  • Station 2: Athletic Information
  • Station 3: Transportation
    • Bus Information
    • Car-Rider Information (Car-Rider tags will only be used for the 6th/7th grade Car-Rider line)
  • Station 4:  School Nurse
  • Station 5:  Paying School Fees (We accept Cash, Check, or Debit/Credit Card)
  • Station 6:  Receive your Class Schedule!
*School ID pictures will not be taken at back-to-school registration.  We will be using last year's school pictures for our 7th and 8th grade students.  For our 6th grade students and students new to MCMS, we will take your picture during the first week of school.

Our second event is Middle School Bound (Rising 6th Grade Students Only) on Monday, July 31st.  This is a day for our incoming 6th grade students to meet their teachers, tour the school, and ask questions before the first day.  We have two sessions that day, 9:00 - 11:00 AM (Last names beginning with A-L and 1:00 - 3:00 PM (Last names beginning with M-Z).  Students will be dropped off and picked up through the 6th/7th grade car-rider line.

Middle School Bound

Our third event is our MCMS Open House on August 7th from 5:30 - 7:00 PM.  This event is for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.  You will get to meet your teachers and visit classrooms before the first day of school.

All of these events lead up to the First Day of School on Wednesday, August 9th!

Good Afternoon MCMS Families! We hope you and your family are staying cool in this summer heat!  It was a great first week of the 2023-2024 school year.  Students quickly got back in the school routine and settled into their new classes.  It was great having the energy and excitement from our students back in the building for the launch another great year at MCMS! MCMS Update- September 17, 2023

Good Afternoon MCMS Families! Happy weekend and we hope that your family is doing well today!  It is fall time and activity around our campus is busy.  The MCMS Athletic teams had a great week, our Volleyball team picked up two wins and our Football team picked up one.  We encourage everyone come out and support our student athletes as compete against teams from around the midlands.  This Thursday (9/21/23) is Grits for Grands at Lunch !  We have almost 250 grandparents registered for this fun event.  We will send out more information to those who registered related to check-in and lunch logistics.  The lunch price will be $5.50 per guest (students are at no cost), cash only .  We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday. Friday, we look forward to celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a school-wide assembly.  We have several students speaking in the program, the MCMS Chorus is performing, and we will have an energetic guest speaker....

MCMS Update - May 20 - 24, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS Families! Happy Last Friday of the school year!  We have four short days of school left until Summer Break!  We have had fun wrapping up our end of the year activities and closing out another great year at MCMS.  We would like to thank our students, parents, teachers, and community members for all of your support during the year.  We hope everyone has a relaxing summer and we can't wait to see you back in August!
